Excellent book showing many of the natural beauty of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The photographs are all 5 star.The title is a bit misleading since most of the photographs deal with the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Missing are possible photographs of the river front of Detroit as viewed from the Windsor, Ontario, Canada side of the Detroit River. The state capitol in Lansing. The natural beauty of Sleeping Bear Dunes near Traverse City, and possibly the Gerald Ford Museum in Grand Rapids in honor of the home of a former US President. This would help balance photographically both the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of this great state.

Wonderful photography that showcases how beautiful Michigan is.
John is a very good photographer. He really has great photos of the Upper Peninsula!
Excellent photos showing the beauty of Michigan.
Not a real depiction of the uniqueness of Michigan. Having lived in a number of States, about the only truly outstanding pictures were of the Mackinac Bridge and the only lighthouse shown. Michigan has more lighthouses than can other state and the author only chose one to feature (more than once), when he could have depicted so many others as well. Too many pictures of repeated areas instead of really showcasing the diversity of this beautiful state. Not even one picture of Copper Harbor, the northernmost point in the state, with a lighthouse on Lake Superior and a view that is truly spectacular. Not a good effort at all!!!
This is an outstanding collection of photographs. They speak to so much of what is wonderful about Michigan. The photgrapher certainly knows what he's doing with a camera in his hand. Well done!
Enjoyed this book very much! It does a great job capturing Michigan's beauty.
What a spectacular collection of photography expertise. Mr. MacDonald knows how to capture a picture, leaving the viewer in awe of grace and beauty in each of his photographs. Every one left me wondering how he was able to put these objects into such magnificent perspective.
